"Nature's Legacy" by Joshua Wiener, date unknown, is the main gate into Carson Nature Center.
"South metro area nature lovers were in South Platte Park February 23, 2011 to celebrate the nearly $1 million in improvements funded by a Great Outdoors Colorado Legacy grant. Contributors included the City of Littleton, South Suburban Parks and Recreation and Arapahoe County Open Space.
A new entrance gate represents the river with live plants and cobbles launching into the sky. There is a refurbished landscape at the Carson Nature Center with new plants and pathways, and a water feature. The building received significant energy improvements including insulation and a 92 percent energy efficiency furnace. A new restroom at Blackrock Lake has been installed and the building also provides shelter from the weather." --from City of Littleton Asset Bank, source unknown, 2011.
