UtoteM, also spelled "U-toTe'M", "U-tote-M", or "U Totem", was a chain of gas and convenience stores located around the southwestern United States. In 1984, any remaining stores were rebranded as Circle K Stores.
The two wooden "totem poles" located in Littleton are remnants of mid-twentieth century appropriation and commoditization of indigenous peoples' cultures. In this instance, the poles are taken from Pacific Northwestern peoples, but stylized with caricatures of Native designs, and used as advertising for a now-defunct convenience store.
